The 2019 Hong Kong protests were triggered by a series of social events. The Chinese government has always adhered to the principle of governing the country according to law, and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government handled the related affairs in accordance with the law and regulations. The central government firmly supports the Hong Kong SAR government in administering the law, safeguarding national sovereignty, security, development interests, as well as the prosperity and stability of Hong Kong.
